I joined Deloitte way back in 2017 when the talent pool was great. Now it's just another WITCH company and you can easily guess basis the talent they are hiring. (No offence)

Dislikes

Instead of doing mass layoffs, they'll resort to cheap tricks and techniques for the employees to fall into their trap and then let them go. In one instance, they deliberately exposed their performance APIs for the curious ones to notice. And a few months later, they fired all of them citing compiance. Additionally, they'll ask theteam managers to nominate few low hanging fruits from their team to nominate them for PIP, which ultimately leads to termination. The entire consulting is at the mercy of the sales/marketing and they are pushy as hell. With the advent of GenAI, sales team has been spreading magic to the customers and expect developers to come up with solutions in record time. They'll try to pass of MVP as proper builds and when the dev teams actually come up with reasonable technical challenges, they'll in turn blame the competency of the team. Dislikes

Too much politics, cannot be peaceful in such an environment. The whole leadership plays by these politics and do not promote anyone who are not "yes-man" or participate in these politics. Job safety is there unless they managers do not like you, in which case they will quiet fire you by torturing you till you leave yourself.

Managers aren’t clear about their team and can’t maintain a good team balance. They in turn effect the project work.

No salary hikes at all. TLs says upskill to so that promotion or hikes can be given a thought. From past 2 years only (5 + 7) 12% yearly raised given by company regardless of good and improving performance reviews. It feels like these PR are total fake or like a scam.

I think the flexibility that Deloitte offers is amazing and as an employee, I am free to work from wherever I want to, and there is no micro management. The team is very professional and there is not much hierarchy.

Dislikes

The salary paid by Deloitte is not commensurate to the work. Appraisal, especially at Deloitte, India are not up to the mark and overall I believe you are underpaid significantly at Deloitte.

Worst work management, all they need is work to be done irrespective of knowledge you had, if your are a java developer, they'll ask you write code in php and get it done ASAP. They say they'll follow agile methodology but in reality they follow spreadsheets and no billable hours given until you asked 100 times, in the mean time you'll get senior leader mails for not maintaining proper timesheets. Worst worst work culture.... No work life balance you'll get. You have to work 15 hrs a day but your senior ask you work more.... Even then you'll get no recognition. They'll simply give bad remarks for how much work you did, which will affect your salary, promotion and bonuses. Life in deloitte purely depends on the team you are getting. But you have to be very lucky!

Nothing, all managers are indian and it's typical indian company with high politics.

Even you work hard, it's not appropriated also if you help some one rather than who is helping other person who is getting help is appreciated. As indian company tremendous politics towards ratings and favouritism is at very high level.

Deloitte Consulting being my first company will always hold a special place in my heart. I learnt everything I could for my career here, had the best managers, good work life balance (as much as can be expected in IT Consulting), competitive salaries and lots of learning opportunities.

Dislikes

Depending on project / client, work hours could stretch past normal consistently and some weekend work would be required (1 / 2 weeks per month).. Promotions for senior resources have lot of additional extra curriculars expected even if your project is demanding which delays promotions to managerial roles.
