The infrastructure is great. Working environment is good.

There is a lot of politics. The increment which is done comes in force very late. Training is done on random basis, like biotech students are given training in JAVA and CSE students were put in manual testing. Also there is a little or no help from HR when associates need them the most.

I am working in Testing domain. Being from CSE background i was given Training in testing and was given Manual Testing project. Since then i have worked in various tools such HP ALM including work with selenium.

People at Director Level and above have created their own Kingdom in the Organization. Without their blessings People at the middle level can't grow. Appraisal is farce. Managers are asked to give lowest rating to 5%, Average Rating to 20%, Good Rating to 60% And Better Ratings to 15%. So even if one gas Met Productivity, Quality and Other Goals but in the same team Other Associates have achieved more than he/she is bound to get Lowest Rating inspire of achieving all goals. Through Trutime App Asdociates' timings are tracked. One has to spend 9 hrs in office even if the day's target achieved before that. Promotions, Better Salary hikes are decided by Closeness to your Manager No Security of Job. If a project ends then the Onus is on Associates of that project to find appropriate position in some other Project. Although there is a WFM team to help the associates in such scenario but they will just share few mails and conduct some meetings, beyond that associate has to find the new position on their own. But Cognizant is a good place for Sycophants. If one has blessings of some Manager then he/she can get good hikes, time bound promotions, can easily move from one project to another...Read More

Cognizant sets a wonderful environment to work in. Job security, trainings were too good,one would feel confident here.

Dislikes

Client based working hours makes it difficult though we have normal shifts, thereby the needs comes to extend to support client calls in the evenings. I do receive appreciation emails, but they went unnoticed during my appraisals and ratings.

3rd class, crass company, they make a list of 20 pple every quarter and sack them. They threaten saying if you so not resign, you will be tagged mentally unstable by them (jaydeep dey). They sacked handicapped persons, they sacked widowed women. They force you to leave else they would red mark your cv. I had a promotion due . 3thousand hike, never got that. I left.
