- Q1. How to replicate an encrypted EBS backed store from one region to another region which should be unencrypted in AWS
- Ans.
Use AWS KMS to copy encrypted EBS snapshot to new region and then create unencrypted volume from snapshot
Create a copy of the encrypted EBS snapshot using AWS KMS to decrypt it
Copy the decrypted snapshot to the new region using AWS CLI or Console
Create a new unencrypted EBS volume from the copied snapshot in the new region
Attach the new volume to an EC2 instance in the new region
