Definitely a place to work if you want constant anxiety and job insecurity.

While joining, they state that it is a 40 hours/ week job from Monday to Friday and they sign you up on one year contract. But, you frequently go through 'slow down' phases where you have no work, hence no pay for those days either. Some times, new tasks for the project are available on Friday, and they expect you to work during theweekends and fill your hours. They do not pressurise you to work, but they will question it later if we do not. Most of time, we end up working for 10 to 12 hours a day, but they pay is only for 8 hours a day. There is no job security even if you are a top performer. They make you do everything. They might promote you to the pod lead or team lead positions but there is no increase in pay. The pay is very low compared to all the companies offering similar roles. They say work hours are flexible but then there might not be any work when you are available so you will end up working when they want. Despite all your efforts and time, despite being a top performer or a lead, they will just put you on 'non-billable hours' and kick you out of the organisation on all platforms without telling us that we are kicked out....Read More

They will lead you on promising a project will continue and then suddenly send you an email at 3:00am telling you you're being fired. Despite being someone who's consistently done outstanding work evident by the TL's praises.

They ask you to work for 8 hours, but the ideal work will be for more than 11 hoursin order to complete 8 hours. Pay is based on the number of hours you work. Even if you work 11 hours, it may be counted as 4 or 5 hours sometimes. Compensation among developers at Turing lacks standardization. Some developers may experience underpayment, while others receive comparatively higher compensation. It is important to note that rate fluctuations of approximately ±$20 USD for similar work are common. The client-facing team at Turing could benefit from enhanced professionalism and communication. There is a perception that some team members may not engage collaboratively with developers, which could impact team dynamics. Instances of unprofessional communication and a tendency to shift blame for project setbacks have been observed. Improving accountability and fostering a supportive work environment would be beneficial. Client is sometimes is provided with LLM generated SFT datasets and RLHF. Racial bias exists in hiring developers and promotion. Most of you will be used until replaced by developer of choice / race at same pay. Be ready to be fired anytime. No annual leaves / PTOs for contractors, however you will see Management enjoying Christmas holidays but asked to pull 2x work from Contractors during same period. Turing culture has deteriorated and doesn't look like it will be fixed anytime soon. Turing is just middle man enjoying wage arbitrage. I'll suggest LLM companies to open offshore offices to curate quality data sets than get manipulated by Turing. The client I am working with is just awesome. I got the exposure that I was always seeking. This is a place where you get recognition by showcasing your talent. In my 8 years of experience, this is the only place I feel that has the best work life balance(just the way I need), the exposure as already mentioned is great and the culture is just awesome.

I have nothing to complain yet as its not been a year since I joined Turing but so far so good and hope it remains the same.
