It was a 3PL company and my role was to source more than 500 items across the globe for CT Scanning machines @ GE Medical Systems Ltd. The learning was tremendous because of the client requirement and enjoyed my brief stint with Exel India which was taken over by DHL later on.

Dislikes

The nature of the job was such that though it was an interesting assignment, there was always a sense to get back to my techno-commercial line which was my initial crush career since Videocon and Wipro days.

Work Details

The work was challenging in terms of arranging more than 500 different items for various programs in GE Medical Systems. Came to more of Bonded Warehouse and procedure for importing more than 60 items. Have won accolades for my role by GE Sr. Mgmt.

Work days: Monday to Friday (Strict Timings)

Work related travel: This job involves Travel Within Country.

Got Rejected In an Interview, Just Because I Didn’t Answer a Personal Question

So, I got invited for this interview, and they told me to be there at 9 AM. Of course, I get there early, like 8:30, because I don't want to be late. But then I end up waiting for 1.5 hours. Seriously, they didn't even acknowledge me until 10. Then this HR lady calls me in, and she's totally unprofessional. She's like, on her phone, making personal calls while I'm sitting right there. And then she starts asking me these really weird questions, like what my nickname is, and what my dad does for a living. It got really uncomfortable when she started pressing for details about where my dad works. I mean, what does that have to do with anything? So I politely told her I didn't want to answer, and she actually said, "Then we can't continue this interview." I was honestly shocked. But instead of arguing, I just stood up and said, “Alright then.” And walked out. I left feeling pissed. Not only did they waste an hour of my time, but the HR rep was also rude and unprofessional..
