This behavior fosters a culture of fear and embarrassment. Toxic Work Culture: A punitive approach undermines productivity—terminations are frequently viewed as the primarysolution for issues, leading to widespread job insecurity. Employees have reported that they spend more time job hunting than focusing on their actual work due to the constant anxiety surrounding arbitrary layoffs. Stagnant Growth: There are nearly no opportunities for advancement. Promotions are rare, and contributions are often ignored, even from long-standing team members. Alarmingly, experienced seniors frequently find themselves on Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) or facing termination despite their expertise. Unrealistic Work Demands: Overwhelming workloads are the norm, with expectations to deliver “by any means necessary.” Working on weekends and receiving last-minute assignments are routine, severely disrupting work-life balance.
