Excellent work culture. Better for experienced people . Joining as fresher may not have so much exposure to technicality but then it depends upon Team to Team . I think as mentioned above appraisals can be improvised ,more often people who are good at showing off and doing less work have ball in their court . They have more chances of being rated outstanding. Most of the time your ratings dont justify what you have performed and you may get to hear that you were low on your visibility. I guess if managers are giving you this reason for your rating then it's not you has not performed well it's them who have not done their duty right to identify who is working on what and what value additions they are adding to the org...Read More
Work is good and interesting if you keep getting different bits of work in different applications .You got to develop a good bond with your manager . Work is achievable in given span of time . Relaxed at the same time exposure to new learnings

I would say it is one of the best work life balance culture holding org in the corporate world. But at the same time you would get to work only with the medicore mindset people.

Barclays at over all corporate level have good policies
In Barclays, there is no or weak HR, line manager are made without their skills and caliber, Line manager post is more on favouritism rather than those who deserve it. Line manager make their own rules and decisions and no work ethics i have seen.
