Assistant Manager - Purchase - Electrical

Role & responsibilities

1. Electrical Procurement Management:

• Manage the procurement of electrical equipment, machinery, components, and consumables for the DRI plant.
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials at the best possible cost.
• Evaluate and negotiate contracts with vendors to optimize costs and delivery schedules.

2. Vendor Development and Management:

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers for electrical equipment and components.
• Build and maintain long-term vendor relationships to ensure a stable and efficient supply chain.
• Conduct regular vendor performance evaluations and address any issues.

3. SAP and ERP Utilization:

• Use SAP, SAP HANA, and ERP software to handle procurement processes, track orders, and manage inventory efficiently.
• Ensure accurate data entry, tracking, and reporting of all procurement activities.

4. Technical Evaluation and Specification Compliance:

• Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to understand technical requirements for electrical purchases.
• Review and assess vendor proposals to ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and quality expectations.

5. Budget and Cost Control:

• Monitor and manage the budget for electrical procurement activities.
• Identify opportunities to optimize costs while maintaining quality and operational efficiency.

6. Compliance and Documentation:

• Ensure all procurement processes comply with company policies, industry standards, and legal regulations.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, including purchase orders, vendor agreements, and compliance records.

7. Market Analysis and Trend Monitoring:

• Stay updated on market trends, pricing fluctuations, and advancements in electrical equipment and technology.
• Conduct market research to identify potential vendors and innovative solutions.

8. Coordination and Collaboration:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and finance, to align procurement activities with organizational goals.
• Resolve any issues or challenges related to electrical procurement promptly.

9. Process Improvement:

• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the procurement process.
• Evaluate procurement strategies periodically to align with changing business needs.
