Role Definition
Provides technical expertise necessary to design all aspects of manufacturing assembly in order to delivery including safety guidelines and environmental requirements for manufacturing.
Lead and execute manufacturing assembly validation projects in both NPI and CPI.
Responsibilities
Support to engineering team on concept design validation, planning and sequencing of manufacturing assembly process both of field and factory.
  • Virtually validate the concept designs for manufacturability, assemble ability and ergonomics in design for X
  • Manufacturing process creation and documentation in VPPA, CAPP+, GTCM and ERP systems
  • Identifying and implementing enhancements and modifications to complex manufacturing operations equipment and processes.
Monitoring sophisticated equipment and process reliability; identifying and addressing problem areas.
Technical skill needs
  • Strong skills with Teamcenter environment and related tools (Vismockup,Creo, Simcenter, Process simulate)
  • Knowledge on Manufacturing execution systems and planning solutions (SAP, SAP ME, Teamcenter manufacturing, Pro planner, any legacy systems)
  • Strong process creation knowledge on assembly/dis assembly and retrofit.
  • Strong knowledge on safe working practices and ergonomics in assembly (Factory and field)
  • Strong knowledge on assembly work tools and torque
  • Should be self-learner in understanding technical requirements and translate in to assembly practices
  • Knowledge about existing Caterpillar manufacturing process standards would be an added benefit
Degree Requirement
Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent experience

Receives, clarifies, and resolves a variety of standard and atypical problems.
Implements the processes and activities for handling unusual problems.
Advises others on the process and associated costs for different types of problems.
Monitors and improves problem reporting, tracking, escalation, and resolution.
Participates in trend and root cause analysis to identify and address recurring problems.
