1.No transparent policy for transfers. 2.SBI scrapped examination policy for promotion and now listing the candidates according to the management recommendation. 3. WORST HR policy , HR department is dumbest i have ever seen, no basic knowledge, they are not MBA graduates, HR posting is considered as Side posting in SBI. 3.Bad in technology , technical resources are not adequate, work pressure is so much high. 4.Branch working is hell ,full of problems, no back office to process customer's applications. 5.Engineering graduates SHOULD NOT join bank, not even any SCIENCE graduates, keep this option as a last option...Read More

SBI is India's premier public sector Bank giving competition to private players like HDFC and Axis. It was an honor to be associated with such a reputed institution. The job security is great. Customer interfacing, communication skills, on the spot dynamic thinking, on the go technical learning and adaptability to any situation -these are what i learnt from my work as a clerical staff.

Dislikes

Not so favorable posting. It takes some time and a lot of union influence to get atleast near home posting. Work politics underplays many talented ambitious young recruits, which is why people wouldn't mind leaving for something better. Stuck in a branch or office for some 3 to 5 years, the work becomes monotonous. Role rotation is only on papers. People from old generation and lower level clerk promotees stick to cash work and become rigid in the long run. New recruits bear the brunt of extra work. To not feel stagnant, the only option is to take promotion as officer. But officers have their own painful life with no work life balance. Hence a clerk lands in a dilemma, between not taking promotion and remaining stagnant in same role for years. The pay is decent, there are concessions on loans, medical facilities etc but the salary revision happens only once in 5/6 years after numerous union strikes. Passing JAIIB, CAIIB exams, Annual increment and promotion are the only way you can increase your income. Rest is at the mercy of IBA settlement....Read More
