Since it is a government job ,so job security ,good salary esp after a few years of job ,you will realise your salary has doubled quickly than initial one. Perks like medical benefits , allowances etc. Pensionable service after 25 years .Officers have much more benefits in the form of allowances,perks than clerk like comprehensive medical benefits for full family ,leased house rent ,furniture etc.

Dislikes

There is a lot of politics,it is a high risk job .There is no HR thing.Management is there to just suppress you .They force you to do lot of misselling of their other ventures that is cross selling. The most stressful job (It is even rated as the most stressful places to work ). No corporate culture.Just half hour lunch time ,whichyou even don't get full as it is purely customer service based job. I have seen many colleagues succumbing to serious health issues like heart issues , hypertension, migraine,lifestyle diseases due to the too much tension and constantly suppression . No flexible working timings or days . Very rigid working schedule.Mostly you will have to work overtime and that too without zero extra income or compensation.Transfers are frequent and illogical. If you take promotion,believe me you will be transferred to the most distant place in the state ! You can't leave your seat ! if any emergency occurs ,so for those hours forget you have a family .There is no wfh ,no half day . Government is also constantly overloading banks with its different projects and schemes like demonitization, adhaar linking and what not. Bank staffs are highly overloaded ,and staff shortage is a real thing. Then also banks esp sbi keeps on multiplying it's branches,and increasing work load and cross selling which is in addition to the regular work. The infrastructure is very poor ,there are no coffee machines , usually no air conditioning, sometimes even lack of basic facilities like water , washrooms ,separate lunch rooms etc. There is no corporate culture....Read More

Excel and typing and talking english and good behavior another plus point is that my colleague come from various cultural background and we work happily in collaboration

The work pressure is very high it's true sometimes I have to work 14 - 18 hrs straight in a day and sometimes late into the night but managers do not value an individual unique strength
