Promotions and appraisals and variable .. it's a performance based promotion.. and management is never happy with the performance.. so very rare chances for getting promoted.. amount of variable you will get is only 20-25% of variable.. that too depends on your annual performance.. don't expect more than 30%

Recently too much pressure on cost has made socgen a nightmare of. Place to work. No growth since the business is not increasing. Paris leadership is focused on cost and not expanding their business anymore.

At the end of year you will be given pre determined ratings instead of valuing your work. Manager's company nothing for new joiners or ygs . Culture of team building and work flexibility is great. Organisation and management(point can be both good and bad) forces people to go on leaves and exhaust all of their leaves each and every year so they can maintain budgets since budget planning is calculated by deducting all leaves of the employee for the year in the project.

Organisation is extremely bad in spending and putting constraints in employee collaboration activities, recognition and rewards. Also organisation is full with senior managers who are very biased and racist promoting and supporting their regional people mostly from southern states. Learning, certifications and travel opportunities are also of scare with no budget or no approvals or availed and controlled only within senior management and no benefits to individual contributors or employees/managers at lower designations.
