Facing trouble in releaving my current job

Hey everyone, I've recently resigned from my current job and serving notice period which is due in less than a week. But my manager is not agreeing to this and forcing me to stay till the time I complete my pendencies and creating more of them unnecessary so that I can't be relieved. I've completed them from my side, but pending from customer ends as they are not coming to sign the certain documents. If we go according to this than I can't be relieved for coming 5-6 months due to these customers as many of them are in different states. I've joining in my new company in next 10 days. What should I do???? And can I really be held back due to this reason(customers sign)????

It was overall a good experience. My seniors were nice and learnt a lot of things from them. If you are looking for tension free routine work culture and having a linear growth, suitable for you.
