There will be ample time and opportunities given to you before being fired from the company.
First red flag - Partners and Directors do not care about Anti Harrasment rule or law. Consultants, Senior Consultants, Managers - no one is spared. If you are willing to compromise mentally and physically - good for you - you will climb the designations quickly. If you are not willing to compromise you will go through hell - so be prepared for that. Second, if you are joining from product or core technology companies - you are at the worst possible place. You will see that Deloitte consulting hot shots are Chartered Accountants who have no knowledge about technology - but doing technology comsulting, technology strategy - delivering crap deliverables. They only create ppts - ask them about standard documents and they will be lost. All they create as deliverables is ppts with very poor content. Third, do not focus on delivery - partners and directors will take your life if you ever focus on delivery. All they care is business without delivery. I have seen Directors and Partners asking teams to focus only on revenue and hence next business opportunity rather than spending time in current delivery. Fourth, I have not seen any company with such poor quality Directors and Partners. I have been asked by a Partner to copy contents from a UK consulting firm report and create the 'Technology Trend 2024' report for Indian firms. But I won't blame Deloitte solely here, the CIOs and CTOs of Indian firms are equally below par. I had spoken to senior executives from US, Europe and Singapore firms, and then I had spoken with their Indian counterparts. They are two different worlds. Indian C-suite executives have very narrow vision, low on confidence and great in micro management. Lastly work life balance is pathetic. Partners/Directors will forget to inform you during office hours that a proposal is pending. They will usually call you at 9pm and ask you to call the team up and prepare the proposal and mail it to them by EOD. More pathetic is the fact that they will take 3-4 days to review it....Read More
