⚠️ Beware of Hiring Scams: A Personal Experience with Boston Institute of Analytics⚠️ I’m sharing this post today to raise awareness about Boston Institute of Analytics - a company that unfortunately exemplifies toxic workplace practices and fraudulent hiring methods. Recently, I had the misfortune of working with them, and I feel it's important to speak up for the sake of others who might fall into similar traps. I was fired from this company in 20 days just because I asked them "I have almost 5 years of experience in HR domain and lot of potential, please give me more work. I don't want to sit and scroll LinkedIn whole day". Here’s my story: 🔴 No Offer Letter: Despite being hired, I was never provided with an official offer letter. This leaves employees in a vulnerable position, with no legal backing to support their work or compensation. 🔴 Role Mismatch: They hire employees with HR Executive designation and give them all kind of work apart from HR activities like of Business Development, Placements to Students, Trainer Empanelment, Vendor Empanelment, LinkedIn Scrolling, Quality Check, etc. I had 5 years of experience and was initially offered Executive role even after having my previous designation as Senior Associate. When I joined them I observed there were people in the company having only 1/2 years of overall experience and employees with 5/10 years of industry experience were reporting to them. 🔴 Unpaid Work: I worked relentlessly for twenty days, 6 days a week, doing my best to contribute to the company’s growth. The company refused to pay me for the 20 days I had worked. 🔴 Hiring & Firing Culture: They will fire you at any point of time. Reasons are baseless, like - you seemed to be very confident, you are fired, you said company is not running ethically - you are fired, you ask for formal offer letter - you are fired, you ask for leave - you are fired, you do not smoke cigar or drink with them inside the office - you are fired, you have their Nescafe Gold from cupboard - you are fired, you do anything ethical in this office - you are fired. 🔴 Unethical Practices: CEO - Ashwin Malik Meshram and COO - Sufiya Khan have an affair and lot of other internal employees have affair in office. It is very casual to have intimate scene in their office premises for couples. There is no POSH act in this office. Anyone can abuse anyone. 🔴 Toxic and Demanding Environment: The environment was extremely draining. They lacked financial resources for adequate promotion, yet still demanded constant high-level output. Instead of appreciating the effort, I was harassed and made to feel like I wasn’t “executing” enough, despite giving my all. There was mounting stress and health issues caused by the excessive pressure. 🔴 Abusive Behavior: When I was fired, I explained to Pratyush Banerjee, the HR Head, that I'm going through financial issues, things are not that great at my place. Please give me sometime or notice at least to get something else. Instead of understanding, Pratyush Banerjee responded harshly, saying, "We would say that we never hired you for Boston Institute of Analytics and neither will we pay you anything. Go ahead and take any legal action you wish to take. This is how Boston Institute of Analytics runs and we are not scared of employees like you." This experience left me financially drained, mentally exhausted, and feeling betrayed. It’s heartbreaking to see companies exploiting young talent for cheap labor, while providing nothing in return. These practices need to be called out so that others don’t fall victim to the same fate. Mental health matters. It's essential to prioritize our well-being and ensure that companies treat employees with the respect and fairness they deserve....Read More
