No new learning, no peer support, existing employees after reaching a VP destination are recruiting their spouses, childrens and promoting them. So these so called VP's and directors are using their power and manipulating the recruitment.It has become a big family business and the UK leadership is ok with it. Leadership lacks vision. In the name of diversity/equity male candidates/colleagues are ignored for promotion and internal job transfer. Some manager will think you as a slave and will keep assigning you works despite of knowing that you are overburdened just to please his seniors. Expected to work for long-hours and its impossible to take all the quota leaves as your manager will always come and say that there is a deadline and all those stuff

1. The organisation lacks a clear vision and the management struggles with making decisive and transparent decisions 2. The on boarding experience was extremely poor, characterised by the HR representative, unable to complete a sentence without grammatical errors 3. There is a hiring for redundant positions with significant mismatch of job description and actual role 4. This wing (BIIC) of Barclays operates against the global mindset and values 5. There is dictatorial culture, wherein the feedback is taken personally, leading to grudges being held 6. HR is very unhelpful in resolving Issues or providing support to the employees 7. Despite of global hybrid working norms, BIIC follows its own model. I was being asked to work from office on all days. Also, I never got a concrete reply on my hybrid working 8. The employee relation team is also very unresponsive to the employee concerns and favours the company 9. The full and final settlement took more than hundred days, Despite fulfilling all the necessary formalities in advance 10. Most important and Most disheartening thing is the lack of leadership responsiveness, wherein despite of communicating the above mentioned issues to the top management (Group chairman, group CEO, group HR head, etc), there was a lack of noticeable action, which was disappointing My personal is that Barclays is the worst place to work...Read More

I have worked in TCS before and have many friends across various MNC's. Barclays to me is the best so far! Company spends good money on employee comfort, a nice working space with wide angle monitors, free cab service and genuinely very good. Work-life balance is awesome, mostly general shift or rota based on your role. Mostly UK people, next is India, and some colleagues Singapore, US and Hong Kong. Fixed reporting days to office Limited office locations and basically limited job openings No bench, directly they will fire you... But you can even apply for other positions within the company and get rehired. I feel, No bench is actually good, bkz lazy people don't trouble the hard workers!

I think the promotion process and leader choice could be better. Sometimes they just give in to the pressure created by few which is actually not required. I suggest you create leader who genuinely feel for your employees.
