I had the most harrowing experience working at Aliens Tattoo. There is no strategy or any management structure in place. there is no process to anything whatsoever. The work culture is extremely toxic. The place runs like a factory or call centre. A 22 year old unqualified marketing manager who is extremely rude is in charge of the team. The entire previous team quit. Working hours are 9 long hours, 6 days a week since they refuse to count lunch break as a part of office timings. There are also 0 public holidays, even the mandatory ones. You're also asked to do personal work for the founder on Sundays. You cannot talk in the office or use a phone. An employee actually had his phone confiscated by the manager. If you are 5 minutes late, the founder yells in the office publicly saying things like, "the time to arrive at work is fixed but the time to leave is not. I don't care, I will replace all of you." If you voice any concern, you will get a swift warning. Multiple employees have broken down and wept. The office is extremely small with no ventilation. It is truly disappointing to see an artistic enterprise function in this manner. Even the artists are yelled at. Even if the customers are happy with the tattoo, the artist is suspended without pay to "practice" if the founder doesn't approve of it. After I left, the inexperienced marketing manager bad mouthed me to other employees saying that I was a "rich spoilt brat". If you just come in and do your job and leave, that also is not enough, you're supposed to stay late and do more. It is hands down my worst experience at a company.
