What I like about working at 42Works is how they celebrate everything from big events to small milestones. From birthdays and festivals to work anniversaries, every occasion is recognized and enjoyed. The office, located in the basement of a building in a residential area, might be a bit unconventional—it only has one washroom, so there's often a queue! You can freely roam around and chat with anyone, and the marketing guy is always on the move, capturing content and turning everything into a reel. The coffee machine, while practical, has its quirks (you might see some cockroaches in the display). There's also a fully stocked kitchen with a microwave, fridge, and all the kitchenware you need. What I dislike about working at 42Works is that the expectations can be quite high, especially for someone coming in with no prior experience. There is a strong emphasis on working long hours, and sometimes it feels like the focus is more on what hasn’t been accomplished rather than recognizing what has been done. The company often seeks results that might be expected from someone with several years of experience, even for trainees. Additionally, there have been issues with adherence to the employment terms mentioned in the offer letter, and terminations can happen abruptly without prior written warnings. The contrast between the initial friendly approach during hiring and the later treatment can be stark. As a trainee, I appreciate the mentorship and guidance provided by the senior developers at 42Works. The hands-on experience with real-world projects has been invaluable, and the learning curve is steep but manageable.
