Job Summary

The Video Analytics Specialist - Streaming Insights will play a key role in analyzing, interpreting, and providing insights from video streaming data. This position involves working closely with engineering, product, and marketing teams to develop a deep understanding of user behavior, streaming performance, and content trends. The individual will leverage advanced video analytics tools and techniques to help optimize the user experience, content recommendations, and streaming infrastructure.

Your Role and Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Insights Generation: Analyze large-scale video streaming data sets to extract meaningful insights and trends, including viewer behavior, content engagement, and streaming quality.

Content Performance Evaluation: Track and evaluate the performance of different content types across various platforms to recommend strategies for content optimization.

Streaming Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to video streaming, such as buffering, load times, and video quality, to ensure optimal performance and user experience.

Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, and marketing to understand requirements and provide data-driven recommendations for improving the streaming platform.

Data Visualization: Present findings in a clear and actionable manner using data visualization tools, ensuring insights are easily understood by non-technical stakeholders.

Algorithm Optimization: Work on optimizing algorithms related to video streaming, including content recommendation systems and video encoding strategies, based on data insights.

Reporting & Documentation: Regularly produce reports on video analytics, trends, and insights, and maintain comprehensive documentation on methodologies and processes used.

Trend Analysis & Market Research: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in video streaming and analytics, ensuring the company remains competitive and innovative in its approach.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Data Analytics Tools: Expertise in using video analytics platforms such as Google Analytics for video, Adobe Analytics, or custom-built streaming analytics tools.

Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python, R, or SQL for analyzing large video data sets and generating insights.

Data Visualization: Strong experience with visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms to create compelling reports and dashboards.

Statistical Analysis: Strong foundation in statistics and data modeling techniques to draw meaningful conclusions from complex data sets.

Understanding of Video Technologies: Familiarity with video encoding, streaming protocols (HLS, DASH), and media player behaviors.

Problem Solving: Excellent analytical skills to identify problems in streaming performance and propose data-driven solutions.

Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualification & Experience Required

Education: Bachelor's or Master s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in video analytics, streaming insights, or a similar data-driven role.

Certifications: Certifications in data analysis or video streaming technologies (e. g. , Google Analytics, AWS, or relevant industry-recognized certifications) are a plus.

Industry Knowledge: Experience working in the video streaming or entertainment industry is highly desirable.
