The Head of Engineering will be a key member of the executive team, responsible for leading the engineering department to deliver high-quality software solutions. This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to managing complex projects and leading multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement the engineering departmentvision, short-term and long-term goals, aligning with the companys overall strategic objectives.
Design and execute strategies for future development projects, ensuring scalability and alignment with business goals.
Team Management and Development:
Lead, mentor, and upskill a diverse team of Technical Architects, Tech Leads, and Software Engineers.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the engineering team.
Project Oversight:
Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of software development projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
Monitor and enhance the reliability and performance of all software development projects.
Innovation and Best Practices:
Implement best practices to maximize productivity and efficiency.
Introduce innovative practices and technologies, including AI and GPT, to enhance team productivity and operational efficiency.
Collaboration and Compliance
Work closely with the IT infrastructure team to ensure secure and effective operation of internal and client projects/systems.
Ensure compliance with data and infrastructure security regulations and industry standards.
Talent Acquisition and Management:
Lead the recruitment of top talent, including Technical Architects, Software Engineers, and Interns.
Coordinate and oversee the onboarding and training of new hires.
Policy and Standards Development:
Review and update policies relevant to internal and external systems to ensure alignment with best practices and regulatory requirements.
Proven experience as a Director/VP of Engineering or a similar senior role in an IT Services company with a headcount of 1000+.
Extensive experience with cloud technologies and hands-on experience in both front-end and back-end development (web and mobile).
Strong understanding of agile development methodologies and excellent project management skills.
Exceptional leadership abilities with a focus on leading (not just managing) engineering teams and collaborating with other departments.
Masterdegree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
