Job Description
- The Head of Engineering for Aerostructures is an integral part of the Quest Global Management Team, possessing complete and overall authority for the technical advancement of all Aerostructure engineering teams and the technical integrity of the delivered product
- Has been granted delegated approval status from the customer, with ultimate accountability for establishing and maintaining the Quest Delegated Signatory Approval (DSA) Process on a global scale across all Aerostructure divisions
- Empowers and enables Functional experts to surpass customer expectations
- The Head of Engineering, with the support of Functional experts, ensures the ongoing and continuous independence and integrity of the engineering function worldwide across all Aerostructure divisions
- Exercises principal authority in fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement on a global scale across all Aerostructure divisions
- Ensures a uniform approach and implementation of best practices worldwide across all Aerostructure divisions
- Provides support and acts as a substitute for Functional experts when addressing critical issues
- This role encompasses mentoring present and potential specialists and functional experts.
Work Experience
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in Aerospace Engineering or a closely related field
- Must hold a position of authority in the current job package or possess extensive expertise in the required skills
- Proficient knowledge in a specific Engineering discipline, such as:
- Evaluation and stress assessment of non-conformances on metallic and/or composite structures/Components
- Designing Metallic/Composite structures/Components
- Stress Analysis of Metallic/Composite structures/Components
- Fatigue and Damage Tolerance of Metallic/Composite structures/Components
- Designing and stress assessment of Repair instructions
- Proficient in the English language (written and oral) (Other Languages German/French etc.,)
- Thorough understanding of relevant Quest and customer Policies, Processes, Procedures, and Tools
- Demonstrate comprehension of Methods and Configuration Rules and Design Principles
- Familiarity with Airworthiness requirements
- Knowledge of product safety requirements
- Understanding of the Digital Mock Up (DMU) and Product Data Management (PDM) system principles
- Awareness of applicable international aviation safety regulations (Example- EASA Part 21 Subpart J regulations) and (where applicable) customer directives
