Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Instructional Designer with a strong background in developing K-12 courses aligned with US state standards. The ideal candidate will have expertise in English Language Arts (ELA) and Social Studies, with a proven ability to create engaging and pedagogically sound instructional materials, curricula, and assessments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop K-12 instructional materials, lesson plans, and assessments in alignment with US state standards.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), educators, and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality course content.
• Develop engaging, interactive, and student-centred learning experiences, including digital and print-based resources.
• Ensure content is age-appropriate, pedagogically effective, and inclusive for diverse learners.
• Utilize instructional design models and best practices to enhance student comprehension and engagement.
• Review and revise existing curriculum materials to maintain relevance, accuracy, and effectiveness.
• Incorporate formative and summative assessments to measure student learning outcomes.
• Work closely with graphic designers, multimedia specialists, and developers to create visually appealing and interactive content.
• Stay up to date with educational trends, standards, and instructional methodologies in ELA and Social Studies.

Key Skills & Qualifications

• 4-8 years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and assessment design for K-12 education.
• Proven experience in designing courses aligned with US state standards (Common Core, TEKS, NGSS, or other state-specific guidelines).
• Strong expertise in ELA and Social Studies curriculum development.
• Experience in developing student-friendly, engaging, and scaffolded content.
• Proficiency in instructional design principles, Blooms Taxonomy, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
• Familiarity with LMS platforms, authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate, Storyline), and digital learning technologies.
• Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate in a team environment while managing multiple projects independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with educational publishers, ed-tech companies, or K-12 institutions.
• Background in educational psychology, pedagogy, or curriculum studies.
• Experience in designing multimodal learning resources (videos, interactive simulations, gamified content, etc.).
