POST FUNCTION:
Assisting a more Senior Officer with building and grounds maintenance, minor works projects and supporting general estate management.

POST DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To responsible for, and fully conversant with, the techniques and standards of building construction, maintenance and repair using directly employed labor materials and contractors in the most efficient and economic manner.
To assist in the development of the planned maintenance system and works information management system within prescribed time limits and the day to day scheduling and control of its operation.
To ensure the correct cost coding of all jobs and reporting and recording as necessary.
To ensure that written procedures and relevant codes of procedures are available of Building and Ground staff for the operation of plant and for maintenance services.
To assist as required with the preparation of the building maintenance plan, liaising with and advising “User Department” on associated matter.
To survey and report on the Estate and the condition of buildings in respect of planned development and maintenance programs, estate database, etc.
To prepare estimates for works projects.
To prepare specification and drawings for building and ground works project including management of contracts during construction.
To liaise with the Fire, Safety and Security Officer and other staff in relation to the requirements and recommendations of the Fire Authority of Northern Ireland, the Department of Health and Social Service, Board and other Statutory Authorities as they affect building, staff, patients and the public in the respect of fire control, basic firefighting, fire prevention and plans for evacuation.
To liaise regularly with Engineering Officers to ensure that all works are fully co-ordinate
To assist in determining stock levels of materials held by Estate Department Stores and carry out cheeks at regular intervals or as directed by a more Senior Estates Officer.
To assist in the planning, co-ordination and supervising work of Building Trades staff including Building.
Looking after House Keeping Agency and Maintenance Purchase and Store.
To resolve the grievances of employees and guards.
To manage events like Diwali, Holi, Birthday Parties, Get together.
Maintenance of Head Office, Branch Offices, Guest House, Stores.
Verification of all purchase bills, electricity bills, telephone bills, Travelling Bills, Conveyance, etc.
