Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: A candidate has to go through 12 rounds of GD. The unique style of group discussion was exhilarating. It reduced the stress and increased my confidence.
Tips: Pay attention to what others say. Do seize the chances to speak. Do use hand gestures when explaining your views. Don't interrupt someone unnecessarily. Show good team spirit. Agree with and support others whose views you like. Present views in an organized manner.
Duration: 72 minutes

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: The interviewers were highly experienced and progressed through the questionnaire dispassionately without revealing their thoughts about me. They did ask me a few "ice-breaker" questions which helped calm my nerves and then they launched into the technical section. According to my observation, the interviewers were inclined to know how much practical knowledge and experience I had. Their questions were aimed at knowing how passionately I have undertaken my summer trainings and projects.
Tips: I had thoroughly studied about the company and their projects. Keeping in mind that the company stresses on latest technology, I studied about a few related new technologies in the power sector too. My resume was impressive as far as I know, so it helped. The "reference" section in a resume is important too and in case the interviewer recognises the references, it boosts your image. The bottom line is, one needs to prove that he/she is at ease with the job profile and life in the power sector.
