Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: The test consisted of 60 questions for first section and 60 minutes, and 30 technical questions in 30 minutes. They almost asked questions from everything we study. You should have just basics to answer those questions; special preparation can barely help you. Over all the paper was not easy, not tough type.
Tips: prepare english finding errors  and reordering questions and focus on time and work and number system in aptitude. they asked technical questions on almost every section but mainly from  thermodynamics , fluid and refrigeration and air conditioning and machine design.prepare these topics well.
Duration: 90 minutes
Total Questions: 90

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: There was a panel of 4 Hr's , they all sitting in front of us and after giving the topic they give us a minute to think and then start. we started the discussion but they are not satisfied and in between they said from one student tell the meaning of commercialization , and then we continued at the end they themselves said to one student to conclude the topic , that student did not speak in the group discussion .
Tips: according to me to clear the GD you have to remembered himself to the Hr's so you have to speak a logical points and in continuous intervals , first you should try to initiate the GD , and if you are unable to start then pic up very early , and then at least speak once in between and necessary to speak in last minutes of GD. don't one to one and try to make eye contact with everyone and sometimes slowly nodding of head on others points also helpful when you are not getting chance to speak.

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: There was only one interview(Tech+HR) with a panel of four members. First thing I’ve got to say about my interview is that it is the best interview I’ve ever had they first asked me introduce yourself as a mechanical engineer .and I was so lucky on that day immediately they asked me my favorite subjects. I said Thermodynamics, i c engine and automobile engineering. then they start qustions from IC engines and they came to manufacturing processes and then they asked questions from machine design and rest of the questions from my resume they asked almost every point from my resume about my training many questions asked from my training and projects that i have done . and they asked some real life situations that can occur in companies like strike and other and asked me for give your decision at that situation and how you convince to employees , so they asked questions almost each subject and HR question too, they can ask anything from what we learn. I advise you to be good at all the fundamentals. Luckily I answered all the questions they asked me except one .I think the process is very fair. Exam was not difficult but can test your depth of knowledge. And my interview was very good. I was so lucky on that day, as I mentioned earlier. The overall process was good and I feel very proud to get in to HERO MOTOCORP ..
Tips: My first suggestion is always keep in touch with our subjects. Because when you go to an interview, they can ask anything. Simply preparing before placements will not help you. You need to have in depth knowledge about the basic fundamentals of everything you study. Most importantly Manufacturing Technology, Automobile Engineering and Machine Design.Learn speaking fluently in English. At times it matters a lot.One more noble suggestion is don’t create bad impression about yourself or the college. Maintain punctuality, be disciplined and etc. Each time you commit an offense the number of candidates they are going to recruit will decrease.

Experience: Technical test consisted of 27 questions in 30 minutes. Questions were easy but constraint of time is there. Aptitude test consisted of 50 questions in 30 minutes. Questions in aptitude section were of mixed difficulty.
Tips: Try to solve easy questions first to maximize the score. Out of 70 odd students only 12 were selected for further rounds.
Duration: 30 minutes
Total Questions: 27

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: It was a simple topic and everybody spoke without any hustle (which happens a lot in GD's). Observers were sitting in the corners and they told the shy ones to speak. GD ended in about 5 minutes and only two people were eliminated out of group of seven.
Tips: GD's are primarily done to check our command on language. Try to speak valid points and have a common conclusion in the end. People who mentor the group always get the benefit.
Duration: 10 minutes

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: It was a technical + HR interview conducted by a panel of 4 people. In the beginning we have to give a presentation for two minutes on a random topic given by them. After that I was asked to introduce myself. Then I was asked few questions related to my family background. They asked about one favourite subject from each candidate followed by few questions.Interview was on shorter side and ended in about 10 minutes. HR did not asked much questions. One person scanned the CV throughout the interview.
Tips: Have thorough knowledge of your favorite subjects (atleast two subjects). One should be well versed with automobiles. Training is important and questions are asked on that. One should have strong and clear fundamentals along with interest to work with them. All the best

Skill Tips: Have faith in your abilities and try to pace the interview along your interests.Be confident. Be happy. Test is very important with low selection rate. So, give it seriously. Good Luck.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: The test started with the verbal ability reading and comprehension. Especially for Technical students you will have to improve your verbal skills as they strongly emphasize on them.
Logical reasoning section is a little bit easy as for me I found it rather easy to handle. Mainly questions were on data interpretation and cubes and relations and ages, time and work.
Moving on to the third and last section that comprises of quant is simple. It only checks your accuracy and speed. Just improve your basic fundamentals.
In technical section , question from all mechanical subjects in sub-sections. It all checks your deep knowledge
It also includes numerical type objective
Tips: Refer India bix and at least start reading something to improve your vocabulary. Even by practicing at least each section from this site is quite enough. Do practice on youth4work also.
For technical section improve your basics. Prefer Made easy handbook
Duration: 60+60 min minutes
Total Questions: 75+60

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: It was a long discussion case study where a common solution among group has to be presented for some issues regarding Inventory control and management facing by Mr. XYZ.
Tips: Especially In Mahindra, Case study acts as decisive round where hr checks your ideas instead of your continuity. Be precise and strong towards your points and show your positive attitude with your group member
Duration: 60 minutes

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: Technical interview was a little bit tough as the hr asked me to explain my project and questions on my field of interest. They asked me especially from production fields and automotive technologies.
Tips: Whatever language you know be ready to at least explain the logic asked about that language and don't try to go round and round over the topic just be clear and to the point. Be confident for your answers as fooling them will only lead to your rejection

Round: HR Interview
Experience: My hr round lasted a mere 8 minutes. It includes all questions about myself, family, achievements, and interests.
Tips: Just don't tremble in front of him and try to answer in a positive way.

General Tips: 1. Be confident
2. Prepare well in advance. Do not leave it to luck or last moment preparation.
3. Keep the interviewer concentrated in the direction where you are strong. Do not sway to topics that you don't know much about.
Skills: Your depth in automobile sector., Project Management, Your Depth In Subject

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: The test was conducted by cocubes in general was not very difficult and was comprised of questions from Indiabix etc. One has to keep up the pace as there is a chance of running out of time. The technical section was a bit tricky and candidates preparing for GATE will have an edge. The questions covers various fields such as RAC, IC engines, Manufacturing, TOM, SOM etc.

There is sectional cutoff in each section so mind it while attempting. There was no negative marking.Students who clear the aptitude round will proceed to the Psychometric test and giving honest answers is the key to crack this round.
Tips: Brush up your technical skills as well as your aptitude. Practice a lot to improve your precision and speed. A mechanical engineering handbook can be kept handy which will help in facing the technical MCQs.
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: After the Psychometric round 25 students were shortlisted and on the day of our interview we had to face a subjective technical written test for further shortlisting. The written test had GATE level subjective questions and we had 1 hour to solve 12 questions. They were looking for your approach to solve the questions rather than focusing on the answers.

13 students were further shortlisted and we had the technical interview. We were very fortunate to have the VP of the Mahindra Research Valley as our interviewer. Questions were mainly internship and project related and some questions on IC engines, Manufacturing etc. Since M&M is extensively working on Hybrid and EVs so the candidates general outlook and knowledge on the various innovations being done in the field of Clean Vehicles were also tested. The interview environment was very friendly. You may also be asked to solve some problems on a whiteboard.

Tips: Get updated with the various innovations in the automotive sector happening around. Be very thorough with your subjects and your internships. Try to focus on what you learnt from your project and It's practical implications.

PS:- An online interview was scheduled for us as is usually done by M&M but due to some reasons it did not happen in our case.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: The HR interview was telephonic and lasted about 7-10 mins. Some basic HR questions and some questions related to B.tech projects were asked. This was an elimination round as well.
Tips: Stay Confident and Keep Calm.
