Round: Test Experience: There was written test in the very beginning of the selection process. It had questions from logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude and electronics. It had questions from microprocessor and many other electronics topic. Thereafter there were the interview rounds.
Round: HR Interview Experience: There were 2 rounds in which they asked me both HR questions as well as core field related question. They asked me to describe myself as well as tell them about my strengths and weaknesses. They also asked me about working in the southern part of India and my views on relocation.
On the technical side they asked me the following questions:
1) Design of D-latch from 2*1 mux? 2) XOR gate using minimum number of NAND gates? 3) Shift registers connections to get a particular sequence? 4) Use of Accumulator in processors like 8085?
In general the interview was more focussed on the technical side with the HR side just to make sure I will be a good fit in the company.
Round: Test Experience: Round 1: Online objective test. There were questions from Operating Systems, C, Algorithms, Data Structures.
Round 2: Online and subjective (choose language C++ or JAVA). This round had 15 questions. Data structures, C++ questions, Fibonacci optimisation, algorithms (DFS/BFS).
Round: Technical Interview Experience: In the first round of interview they asked me questions about :1) My project (asked no. of classes and mention their responsibilities). 2) ACID properties of database and indexing in a database.
There were also questions related to OOPS concepts including polymorphism, composition, aggregation, inheritance, Abstract classes, interface; difference between usage of abstract class and interface, can abstract class be instantiated, how to access child class methods having reference of base class. There was another question on run time and compile time binding and under which category do we classify method overloading and also questions on code for deleting the duplicate nodes in a sorted link list and printing root to leaf paths in a binary search tree.
Round: Technical Interview Experience: This was the second round of the interview. They asked me the following questions,There is a tree (not binary) and all non-leaf nodes are RED in colour. Some leaf nodes are white in colour. If a node has all white coloured children then its colour can be changed into white. So we have to convert maximum number of nodes into white colour – write program for the same. Code for checking whether a given binary tree balanced or not. What are virtual functions, what is their role? Questions related to virtual functions.
You are given the details of each transaction of each item i.e. item_name, quantity, price. So at the end of the day, you want top 50 items that have been sold. There are two cases: In the first case you have fixed number of items. In the second case very large number of items – so you need to decide what data structure to be used for this.
Round: Technical Interview Experience: In the third round of the interview they asked questions like : 1) Types of tree traversals (breadth first and depth first (pre, post, in) 2) Determining width of binary tree i.e. using breadth wise traversal 3) Why files are preferred over databases?

Round: Test Experience: There were questions on general aptitude like work and time, probability, and some questions were on data interpretation, coding and decoding, etc., most of the questions were very simple...but I felt the data interpretation questions to be a bit tricky (completely my opinion though).. ON THE BASIS OF THIS TEST THEY SHORTLISTED ROUGHLY 15 OUT OF 150 (again a rough figure) Tips: Manage your time wisely...start with the type of questions you feel comfortable...try to attempt all the questions....improve your speed while practicing. Duration: 45min minutes Total Questions: 45
Round: Test Experience: We were given 3 questions to solve in 30 min duration.Later we were told to walk them through our solution . Two of them were on probability(one random variables and the other on basic probability) and one was on estimating the area of an irregular figure , given some tools. Tips: Get all the doubts regarding the questions clarified .As you have to explain your solution, it would be helpful if you could pen down all the steps clearly ( as it shows them that your thought process is an organised one). Use pictorial representation if needed. When they propose some other method be open to it and be open to any method they propose and be clear with the method you adopted. Even if you didn't arrive at the final answer, try to communicate your idea on solving the problem( most of the times they will listen to what you say). Duration: 30min minutes Total Questions: 3
Round: Other Interview Experience: They were basically looking for quantifiable factors...so think of some quantifiable factors like the number of Times they are available to you in a day and the number of service providers they engage with. etc., For the second question again use quantifiable factors which make sense. Tips: They patiently listened to what I said . So, be calm and don't be in a haste.
Skill Tips: Be a bit quick while solving the Aptitude questions....Know about the company before you go in for the interview process....No need of any prior knowledge in R language ...They just tested my Willingness to learn new things. Round: Puzzle Interview Experience: I HAD PURELY FINANCE BASED CV,SO I WAS ASKED QUESTIONS LIKE CALCULATING THE EMI ON A LOAN.ONE OR TWO QUESTIONS WERE ASKED ON P&C.INTERVIEWER MOSTLY TRIED TO PUT ME OFF BY TELLING ME I WASA BETTER FIT FOR OTHER COMPANIES AND NOT EXL.I HAD TO CONVINCE HIM OTHERWISE. Tips: RELAX DURING THE INTERVIEW.MOST PEOPLE WERE BEING ASKED PUZZLES.VERY COMMON PUZZLES WERE BEING ASKED.REFER TO TECH INTERVIEW FOR PUZZLE PREPARATION.
Round: HR Interview Experience: VERY CHILL INTERVIEW WITH A SENIOR EMPLOYEE(VP, MOST PROBABLY).JUST SAT THERE STARING AT HIS PHONE AND TOLD ME TO LEAVE AFTER 10 MINUTES

Round: HR Interview Experience: This is the final step for many companies. You simply can't afford to lose here. Tips: Take mock interviews. Moreover, well prepared answers to these questions will give you the confidence to crack the personal interview.

Round: Technical Interview Experience: We were given a chance to select a subject of our choice. I chose physical chemistry. The interview went on fior 40 minutes. They asked questions from reaction kinetics, reaction equilibirum, quantum chemistry, practical experiences, about my projects, and from various types of spectroscopy such as UV, VIS, IR, NMR, Electroic spectra, etc. It tried to give the answers to my best knowledge.
