You need their permission to fall sick even during Pandemic No work-life balance because of rotational shifts that does not rotate for 1.5 years. If you are in NA shift, you will be there for 1.5 years No career growth or promotion or switch role. They will conduct 5 rounds of interview same as an outsider. It is much easier to get a job out of VMware than inside. There is no concept of promition to another role or Supervisor or Manager. VMware used to be a great company work but since it's acquisition the culture has been different. Great tech to work. Good RSU and stock options.

Dislikes

It is more into business with less care about the employees after Broadcom acquisition. You will get paid higher salaries with a fear of getting fired every quarter. It could be based on your performance or teams performance. Bonus calculation is also very brutal.

Vmware was great company until the broadcom acquisition, Always been my dream company to work at but since the acquisitions lots of layoffs are going on and situation is not that good. But still for someone who is not impacted it's a great company to work at.

Dislikes

Vmware being a mature company you can't expect a lot of development tasks if you are a junior engineer with around 1-4 years. I feel this as a negative point because in my previous company I was working on building a product from scratch so compared to that the learnings at vmware are less.

Everything was wonderful about VMware, the way they support employees and the benefits they offer are simply amazing. I spent 6.5 years and there was not a single day when I hated going to office.. managers are supportive, you are allowed to put across your ideas and work on them. Learning opportunities are plenty.

Dislikes

The company got acquired by Broadcom and it was the worst thing that could have happened to VMware, it's employees and it's customers. The old VMware culture is now replaced by broadcom and I wouldn't suggest joining boradcom.
