I loved my fellow employees from SAIC. Top quality people. All eager to grow and to learn from each other, which resulted in me learning so many skills outside of my role. The pay and benefits were also the best I've ever had. 100% remote work was a dream come true as someone with an autoimmune disease.
Dislikes
My role had almost zero oversight and I worked exclusively with people from another contracting company, where neither their company nor ours was the prime contract for our project. The result was a MESS of internal politics, and a lack of effective leadership and accountability. It was one of those jobs where I learned so much of what not to do and had to flex skills and grow because of massive leadership gaps among the people I worked with. People from the other contracting company were happy to take credit for my work before the client but did not take accountability for their own mistakes, creating a culture of misunderstanding and lack of trust that was not a healthy work environment.
