The company is a family business and adpots family culture at our workplace. Family and Job security are the given preferences, management and company policies are strict to inherent discipline in all employees as per my father which is good, but these are everywhere in the corporate world. No one stops you and questions why are youleaving on time. The company also has an open-door culture for meeting any higher authorities including Managing Director. Traveling on-site is purely based on projects and product knowledge. I recently interviewed with D.E. Shaw, and it turned out to be one of the most draining experiences I’ve had. The interviewer’s approach felt unnecessarily harsh and dismissive, which made the entire process uncomfortable. At multiple points, the interviewer asked me to drop off the call, even when I tried asking basic questions about the designation, job description, and other details. After the interview, I found myself sitting there for a few minutes, trying to process what just happened. It left me questioning the overall tone and professionalism of the interview.
