Nothing good in Big4 with respect to technology consulting as they don’t have any product or solution of their own.

Dislikes

Specific to technology consulting only - 1. People don’t have adequate experience or expertise. 2. It’s a partner driven organisation. So no company culture. 3. Steve Jobs once said to consultants- “Do some real job” 4. The entire team runs on Google search and chat Gpt. Almost zero field experience.

HR practice & Governance is very ppor. Individual (Partner) driven company (like lala company) working within some defined framework and poicies, which gets overruled by Partners multiple times and HRs are just feeble spectature in such situations.

Work life balance is terrible here. Join PwC only when you are willing to invest atleast 11-12 hours a day for work. In most of the cases/project you are thrown in the ocean you have to learn to swim & survive. You have to build connections & make way forward. Timings wise there is no confirm time of work, weekends also you’ll have to work if required.

To follow critical deadlines and profitability, you have to work in multiple engagements along with internal work. This may lead to doing hectic work for extended hours on regular basis and affect work life balance.

Manager are making us to work 14 hours whis is not acceptable I informed HR as well they are supporting management only. I was working ABB project people are asking to stress midnight 1 PM and there is no OT as well like slave we need to work. Ifter I quit job 3 team members also quit see how much pressure

Great people, great environment although this may differ from project to project and individual people behavior. Perks are very good. High cover health insurance, L&D benefits, awesome flexibility and additional self enrolled fund benefit for near and dear one (applicable on individual selection)

Dislikes

Sometime some leadership do micro management which affects adversely to the mental health. Major dislike is initially you will get a good salary if you switch from any other company to PwC. But in appraisal expecting much may disappoint you.

They basically report to engagement teams who are located in different countries ( US & Europe). So the structure is like a Senior Manager working from India is afraid of an Associate sitting in UK. Now guess if you are an associate. Also no job security. They keep firing their employees for petty reasons.

No work recognition, no timely promotion, very less increment, peanut size bonus.

Cons: 1. Poor appraisals and promotions 2. Too much approvals and MBA controlled, no freedom to explore as a technical person. 3. People have almost zero technical knowledge. Specially the mid level.
