Ultra deep Micromanagement on everything apart from work 3 days work from office, no option for the employee to choose under any circumstances, if unable to make it on designated day, no choice to compensate on other day, employee has to apply for a leave with a proper reason and align with manager- won’t be a great conversation anyways Strict formals in office and when joined on video call from home- just that a tie is not required- manager approves if the employee’s dressing is formal or not Login time is 8Am and employee is not allowed to leave before 4:30pm under any circumstances- if needed to, alignment with manager is mandatory and generally the alignment is failed regardless of how serious the reason is Everything is mandatory- Manager decides what meeting on your calendar is important- employee doesn’t have the discretion to choose what meeting he should join- not allowed to leave before the meeting finishes under whatever situation Joining offsites and team parties is not optional- it is mandatory- bio breaks between offsite are also to be aligned with manager- considered a violation of rules if associate takes a break that is extra than stipulated Employee is not free to apply for leaves- manager finds patterns in the leaves applied and indicates it shouldn’t happen. Sick leaves are to be aligned with manager as well which means employee should call up manager and discuss that he/she is sick and wait for manager’s consent before availing it When there is a heavy rain, it’s the management that decides if it’s heavy enough or not for the employee to avail WFH Manager is king !...Read More

Company was good in the past until 3 years ago, they replaced an Indian CVP with a Danish after huge fraud in their IT procurement, now a british man leads the organisation and he speaks like a British army General saying that he does not trust Indians.

Dislikes

Hard working people are not rewarded, the current VP of Finance has a liking for north Indians, he has replaced majority of his direct management team who were loyal hard working people with his cronies from his ex organisation and hindi speaking people, south Indians were replaced. Internal people no matter how loyal or hard working are treated like they are animals, they prefer people from outside. Internal growth is extremely slow, hikes are also in single digits and internal people are paid less than 30-40% of new comers from outside They ran a program called WeCare and made it so hard to claim that people started to submit fake bills, now they are treating Indian employees like the britishers did calling them we have no trust on you indians. They have now started to monitor indian employees on cctv camera to see who is taking more fruits from the pantry. Stakeholders are treated like gods and indians are always considered to be at fault and treated like dogs....Read More

Novo claims to be one of the best places to work. I have been in this company for last 2 and a half years and trust me, only if you get a good and a strong manager who is there to listen to you and your concern and resolve it then it becomes easy to work here. But these chances now are close to none as there have been a lot of reorgchanges happening recently. When I joined Novo couple of years back it was a good place to work and the culture was really fascinating and it kept me motivated to work and grow. From last 1 and a half years I have been treated like shit just because they decided to put a couple of morons in a position of power. Even after raising the issue to HR and higher management, nothing changed. I will be putting down my papers in couple of days after I am writing this. In a nutshell, do not fall for the tag “Best Place to Work”. If you’re someone who likes being a lap dog of their managers, then you can surely try your luck. But someone having views and strong mindset regarding the work they do are not appreciated. Also, the chances of any opportunities abroad are negligible....Read More

Dislikes
