Morgan stanley has a very good overall culture. You can talk to anyone anytime without any hesitations. No difference between contractors and Full Time employees.

Dislikes

The promotions from Director to VP level and beyond is very conplicated and unclear. You have to go way out of your job role to get that. Also, it is an investment bank so majority of the tech projects have mediocre tech stack. But Morgan stanley as a company have multiple tech forums which can be utilized to enhave skills and that you have to do on top of your project work.

Management and politics. Work is not the focus. If you are good at work but bad at politics then dont join. You need to agree to manager's opinions always even if they are not good for project technically or business wise.

Only the food and the facilities at new office are good. 10 Day WFO policy.

Dislikes

Toxic culture. Work is not appreciated. Hikes and bonuses don't beat inflation even with a good year end review. Promotions depend a lot on senior management and equation with them not on work done in the year.

Dislikes

Do not ever join Corporate Workplace Technology department. It's headed by a fool and run by psychology ill leaders. They spend their time playing psycho games instead of working. Nobody in that department has any clue where this department is headed.

Lots of micro management, politics, toxic work environment. Managers always love highlighting people(who are just stealing some other developer's hard work credit). this manager's higher management is also influencing him to do so. No respect to non officers post.

Too much beurocracy. Poor management who have no vision and do not understand what they are actually doing. Top down culture. Too much politics. If you are someone who really wants to do stuff, please stay away from this company.

I like the work culture of the company. The team i was part of, it was a stable environment so there was a stagnant growth.

Personal learning and growth are very hard to achieve here, as they don’t sponsor any certification.
