Lets have a chat about the place I am currently working. I want to give you a real-deal look behind the curtain. This company is led by a group of folks who call themselves the "Leadership" or "Key Person". But in all honesty, they are more like bunch of clowns running a lemonade stand. Over the years, they have started a ton of different brands, and they have blown through a massive amount of money from investors (must be 150+ crores). It's like watching a comedy show, but the joke's on us. Among the leaders, there are two in particular, everyone knows their name. They may have fancy degrees from the top colleges, but they lack the skills and experience needed for their roles. They are also up to some shady stuff behind the scenes. One of them is pitching pennies, while the other is known for yelling at employees for no reason. If you join this company, be prepared to be scolded and made to feel small. Don't expect any motivation or job security here. You could be let go at any moment, regardless of your performance or how badly you need the job. They will even embarrass you for no good reason. It's like working in a hostile environment where you hear a lot of bad language (A** H**le*, F*****G I***t, Chu**ya, MC) The treatment of employees is far from great. There are no clear policies or processes, and they sometimes don't pay the vendors for their work intentionally. Attrition is the norm here. Every few months they let go of the old team and bring in new people just to take advantage of them. They will spend crores in the name of reckless experiments, but when its time to pay employees, they will find excuses to cut your salary or impose leave without pay. It has a potential to generate more revenues than their existing business. Labor department seems to turn a blind eye to all this. Most of our schools are not properly affiliated, yet they charge the fee equivalent to top notch CBSE schools. They academic and content team are not up to par, and the Principals don't seem to know what they are doing. They also own a strange company that sells uniform, books etc. to Orchids/trust. And the trusts that run the schools? Only god knows. As for working conditions, there is no parking, and the office is in a converted warehouse at the outskirts of the Bangalore. Forget about finding good food nearby. Meanwhile, the top brass enjoys all the comforts while making life miserable for the rest of us. If auditors ever decide to take closer look at our financial books, they would find all sorts of irregularities. The management indulges themselves with fancy gadgets, expensive cars, free housing, and company credit cards. It's like they don't spend a dime of their own money. This company's antics are a lot like what we have seen with Byju's. They don't just fool their employees, they also trick their customer and investors. I used to have a good opinion of Sequoia, a big investment company. But it turns out they are just as clueless as the rest of us. They either don't see the problems or waiting for an IPO, as they can sell it to the retail investors who don't know what they are getting into. And lets not forget that most of the blame for this mess goes to those two leaders at the top. If they were replaced, this company could actually do well in the education sector. But until that happens, its like a never-ending circus of chaos and nonsense. So if you are still thinking about joining this place, I understand your situation. But my advice is to steer clear. You will likely end up spending more on stress relief or losing your peace of mind. The choice is yours, but consider yourself warned. They give sufficient wiggle room to experiment with strategies but only for a short period of time-2 weeks maximum.

No PF - even for permanent employees No promotion No appraisal Very high attrition rate/hire and fire culture - I had 4 managers in 2 years They fire whole teams once the sales cycle is complete - marketing teams got fired after achieving targets 5 days working for tech team 6 days working for rest of the company The company believes in hiring outside talent rather than promoting from within the organization. One of the most toxic work cultures. The business head, although an IIT + IIM dude has no manners to talk to people. He routinely humiliates & abuses people publicly - so much that sometimes being called an idiot may sound like a compliment. He routinely does large scale experiments with high stakes - at the cost of disrupting existing things that seem to be working Okish - and many of them fail. (No dearth of scapegoats though) Hire & fire is the norm here. Teams are routinely fired top to bottom - mostly with accompanying public humiliation. Milder versions of punishments may range from retrospective LOPs (Loss of pay) to fines with may range from few rupees to few tens of thousands. LOP/ Fines seem to be one of the fastest growing businesses of the company. Employee policies are designed assuming that employees are by default, thieves. Top management routinely reneges on its promises & commitments, but for them rules don't apply. Concept of empathy is usually absent.
