For JG8 (Project Lead), the process is even more demanding - first, an interview with JG9 and if cleared, a rigorous annual program then again 2 rounds of interviews with JG10 & JG11. However, completing the program does not guarantee a promotion, as selections are based on business requirements. Beyond promotions, there are several management issues. Many managers lack essential project management skills, such as proactive communication, handling team queries and emotional intelligence. They often reach out to employees after office hours and work late into the night, setting an unhealthy work culture. Additionally, there is a noticeable misalignment in expectations between management and leadership. Workplace condition add to these challenges.
