There has been no changes in company products or policies for the past 15-20 years, as such there is nothing new to learn. If a person spends more than 5 years in BEML, it would be tough for him to find or adjust to a new job in a MNC or other company where there is constant technology upgradation. With regards to growth opportunity, if the person is from General Category, their growth will be a tad slower when compared to others. People working there also have a very narrow mindset and have virtually not seen the outside world. There is no difference in the work done carried out by a Asst. Engineer, Engineer, Asst. Manager, Manager and Sr. Manager... Work is the same only the grade and designation changes. Transfer is another worst part of working in BEML. There is no fixed rule that a person will be transferred after certain number of years. It can happen anytime and to anywhere... Purchase is the worst department to work in BEML....Read More

In likes.. basically nothing from the company prospective except for being a secure job, ofcourse with the risk of transfers. But work is secure till retirement.

Oh Man!!! Lots of negatives.. These negatives are based as per my experience during my years spent in BEML 1. Basically nothing new to learn 2. No improvement in technology or systems. When i joined in 2008, they were working on a project which never saw the light till my separation in 2016. 3. All category based and reservation based promotions. 4. No rewards for hard work and no appreciation for new systems if introduced. And in case, there is any improvement done, there will be a "Rule Book" opened which would rule the fact that what you did is not as per the set rules. 5. Sick.. I mean very sick medical claim policies. This is an incident happened to me. I was in my home town and i fell ill. I was taken to hospital and was in casualty for a few hours with medicine administered. Now after recovery, when i went back work and submitted by claims, it was rejected saying that "I had not availed treatment in a company approved hospital". Now tell me, when i am in my hometown, 160 km away from my work place and I fall sick, can i travel 160 Km to avail treatment in an approved hospital? Sick mentality of people 6. The HR cheats on employees. Yes, u read it right. They do "CHEAT". They cheated me. They transferred me saying that I had made a request transfer. I had never made a request and was denied of all transfer benefits. Sick.. Crap HR... 7<mark style="background-color: #fff5e4;">. Fixed work timings</mark>. Fixed time to come inside the company, no time to go back home 8. Unnecessary pressure. We, in Purchase Department would be sent on outstation duty to carry "Urgent Items" required for production, but after its receipt, most of the times the urgency would have died down. 9. No proper ERP system. On records, they run on SAP, but there is no match between what is in system and what is there physically. To conclude, HORRIBLE TO WORK IN PURCHASE DEPARTMENT IN BEML.
