As it is a PSU, your job is secured. Now a days the management is bringing Compulsory Retirement Schemes which are detrimental to the job security.

Dislikes

Remote Postings and frequent transfers in Power Sectors. Family will be disturbed in every transfer. Otherwise, settle your family at one place and you roam alone.

Work life balance is good in most of the departments but not in all of them. It was good salarywise 5 years back, but now salary is quite low.

Dislikes

The biggest problem in BHEL is that it is not fair with it's emloyees. One can survive and reach on high posts only by touching by their boss's feet and buttering them. No matter how honest or hard working someone is, it does not matter. If you see the posting places of an employee, there are some who joined at a unit and even after15-20 of working they are at the same place just because they have a upper hand of some boss or they report to E.D.. This is not fair. An employee must have an experience of site for atleast 3-5 years. And if someone has never worked outside of unit they should get a transfer atleast once....Read More

The only good thing is Job security. That's it you'll trade your life, your family, your peace of mind, your passion and yourself for the Job security that's it.

Site life is hell No work hour sometimes it 8 hrs sometimes it's 13 hrs. You may be asked to go home at 2 pm all of a sudden and come back for night shift. Sometimes alternative Sundays. All the work is contractors oriented on whom company has no control you'll be given a lot of responsibility without authority.
