What to do get High package?
Hi friends again I want to seek your help. I am a really frustrated guy and hopeless because I am quite unable to achieve anything. I have family to support and have thought that after Engineering life will get better but seems everything turned out reverse. I am civil engineer with 7 years work ex and package is below 7 lpa but now my role and construction industry is in cooled down state. New job opening are not promising. Packages offered are even below expectation and not competitive. And foreign MNC and Big Names are only hiring +1 degree holders. I am now totally stuck to my field. Tried switching by doing MBA but entrance exams hit hard no colleges are ready to give admission on profile. I don't know what to do. Going for full time would have been beneficial but now Age comes I am now close to 30 years. Please suggest what to do. Trying out courses on Data Analytics but still sceptical if this works out for my age and experience.

Data Analytics could be a good option with your engineering background, you tried MBA but data analytics can still work for you

You are thinking too negatively about every other thing 🙄
Instead of cribbing you should have upskilled yourself then it would have definitely paid you off 🤷🏻

Why don't you aim for project management roles, they often command higher salaries and offer opportunities for growth.

Before doing anything please do SWOT analysis for yourself and understand what are your strengths and weaknesses then understand what market want then map and take further decisions. If you don’t do this you will be stuck again after 7 years of career choice

I’m in a similar spot—been working in IT for 5 years, but lately, things are stagnating. You’re not alone.

I know it might sound tough, but have you thought about exploring niche areas within civil engineering?

I feel you bhai...Age or experience doesn't define your worth in this field. Data Analytics is a great option! Have you tried looking at entry level certifications or bootcamps?

Hey, I can feel your frustration, man. It’s tough, especially when you put in so much effort and still feel stuck. I can see why you're considering a switch, especially with the way the construction industry is right now.
But before you go too deep into thinking this is the end of the road, have you thought about how you can pivot your civil engineering experience?
