Job Description:
Credit Risk Assessment:
- Evaluate and monitor the creditworthiness of existing and prospective consumers.
- Conduct detailed analysis of financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to assess credit risk.
- Provide recommendations regarding credit limits, terms, and conditions based on risk assessments.
Credit Risk Strategy and Policy:
- Develop, implement, and continuously refine credit risk management policies and procedures.
- Ensure alignment of credit risk strategy with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Advise senior management on potential risks and propose mitigation strategies.
Risk Monitoring and Reporting:
- Continuously monitor credit risk exposures to ensure compliance with internal risk limits and policies.
- Prepare regular credit risk reports and dashboards for senior management, highlighting key risk indicators, trends, and potential issues.
- Implement and manage automated systems and tools for monitoring and reporting on credit risk metrics.
Credit Bureau Reporting:
- Oversee and manage the monthly and quarterly submission of credit data to all major credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian, TransUnion).
- Ensure accurate reporting of consumer credit information, including payment histories, credit limits, balances, and account statuses.
- Work with IT and data management teams to ensure credit information systems are accurate and fully integrated with bureau reporting mechanisms.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as underwriting, sales, finance, and legal teams to manage credit risk across the organization.
- Engage with external partners such as credit agencies, auditors, and regulators to stay updated on market trends and industry best practices.
Compliance and Regulation:
- Ensure credit risk practices are compliant with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Maintain knowledge of applicable regulations, including any local or regional rules affecting credit risk management.
Training and Development:
- Provide guidance and training to junior risk analysts and other relevant departments on credit risk management best practices and policies.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments by attending relevant conferences and continuing education programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field. A Master's degree (MBA, MSc) or relevant professional certifications (e.g., FRM, CFA) is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit risk management, financial analysis, or related roles, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity.
- Technical Skills: Advanced knowledge of financial analysis, credit scoring models, and risk mitigation techniques. And proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and SQL.
