Job Description
The BI Tools Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and managing business intelligence solutions to transform data into actionable insights. This role involves working closely with stakeholders to understand business needs, creating intuitive dashboards and reports, and ensuring data accuracy and security. As a BI Tools Specialist, you will leverage advanced BI tools to support strategic decision-making processes and drive data-informed business outcomes.
- Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView.
- Collaborate with business units to gather and translate requirements into functional BI solutions.
- Maintain and optimize existing BI platforms to ensure high performance and scalability.
- Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to integrate data from multiple sources.
- Conduct data validation and ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data presented in BI systems.
- Create and document technical specifications, workflows, and user guides for developed BI solutions.
- Provide training and support to end-users to maximize the utility of BI tools.
- Stay updated on BI trends and tools to recommend and implement improvements to existing processes.
- Proficiency in BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, or similar platforms.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with database management systems (e. g. , MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
- Understanding of data modeling concepts, including star schema and snowflake schema.
- Experience with ETL processes and tools such as Alteryx, SSIS, or Informatica.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with complex datasets.
- Familiarity with scripting languages like Python or R for data manipulation is an advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of data governance, security practices, and compliance standards.
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a business intelligence or data analytics role.
- Proven track record of designing and implementing BI solutions for large-scale organizations.
- Experience in cloud-based data platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is preferred.
- Relevant certifications in BI tools (e. g. , Microsoft Power BI, Tableau Desktop) or data analytics are a plus.
