Overview:
Unimech Aerospace, a publicly listed global leader in high-precision manufacturing, is seeking an experienced Sales Leader to spearhead the next growth phase in the Aerospace and Defense sectors.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in driving medium-volume sales of precision components, assemblies, and turnkey systems.
This role requires strong industry expertise, strategic vision, and the ability to build and sustain long-term customer relationships.
The Sales Leader will report directly to senior leadership and play a pivotal role in shaping and executing Unimech's growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Market Expansion:
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive growth in the Aerospace and Defense industries.
- Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities across medium-volume precision components, assemblies, and turnkey systems.
- Expand Unimech's footprint in existing markets while exploring and establishing presence in new geographies.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
- Act as the primary point of contact for major clients, addressing their needs and ensuring satisfaction.
Business Development:
- Leverage an extensive network of contacts within the Aerospace and Defense sectors to generate leads.
- Identify and develop relationships with Tier-1 suppliers, OEMs, and government contractors.
- Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and customer visits to promote Unimech's capabilities.
Strategic Initiatives:
- Collaborate with internal teams to tailor Unimech's offerings to meet market demands.
- Provide insights into industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
- Contribute to the development of innovative solutions and lateral service offerings to increase customer value.
Sales Execution:
- Achieve quarterly and annual sales targets as per the strategic plan.
- Develop proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals to maximize profitability.
- Maintain an up-to-date sales funnel, providing monthly reports on pipeline progress and key metrics.
Key Deliverables:
Revenue Growth:
- Achieve and exceed budgeted sales targets through new business development and expansion of existing accounts.
- Generate launch accounts for design-to-manufacture tooling solutions and precision assemblies.
Market Leadership:
- Establish Unimech as the preferred supplier for precision components and turnkey solutions in the Aerospace and Defense sectors.
Operational Support:
- Provide strategic inputs to support organizational initiatives, including international expansion and partnerships.
Requirements & Skills:
Industry Expertise:
- Minimum 10+ years of sales experience in the Aerospace and Defense manufacturing sectors.
- Proven success in selling CNC-machined parts, assemblies, and electro-mechanical turnkey systems.
- In-depth understanding of industry standards, procurement cycles, and customer needs.
Technical Proficiency:
- Ability to understand and discuss technical aspects of Unimech's manufacturing capabilities.
- Familiarity with precision engineering, tolerances, and complex assembly requirements.
Business Acumen:
- Strong experience with CRM tools (e., Salesforce, HubSpot) and MS Office Suite.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans.
Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and build relationships with senior-level decision-makers.
- Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving and achieving targets.
Travel:
- Willingness to travel extensively, including internationally, for customer visits and industry events (~40%).
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5+ years in a managerial role overseeing sales teams.
- Experience working with Tier-1 suppliers or OEMs in Aerospace and Defense is highly desirable.
