Job Description

Role purpose

The role focuses on managing bookkeeping for Dubai based clients. The Bookkeeper will handle financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and communicate with Dubai clients to ensure compliance and satisfaction.


The following key responsibilities of a bookkeeper for UAE/Dubai clients:

  • Accurately record all financial transactions (sales, purchases, receipts, payments) in the companys accounting system.
  • Regularly reconcile the company’s bank statements with the records in the accounting system to ensure accuracy.
  • Manage accounts payable by ensuring that supplier invoices are paid on time and recorded correctly.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and ensure customers pay on time, following up on overdue payments.
  • Assist with the proper recording of VAT transactions, ensuring compliance with UAE VAT regulations. Maintain records of VAT collected and paid, preparing for VAT returns in accordance with UAE law.
  • Maintain payroll records, ensuring that employee wages, bonuses, and deductions are accurately recorded accordance with UAE labor laws.
  • Generate basic financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Safeguard all financial records, invoices, receipts, and documents in an organized and accessible manner.
  • Track and manage petty cash transactions, ensuring proper documentation and that funds are spent according to company policies.
  • Provide necessary documentation and support during internal or external audits.
  • Maintain the company’s general ledger by posting journal entries for expenses, revenues, and adjustments.
  • Monitor and record company expenses to ensure that budgets are adhered to.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE accounting standards and financial regulations.
  • Assist in preparing accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for review by senior accountants or management.

Role Specific Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Certification in bookkeeping, VAT Filing and payroll management.
  • 2-5 years of experience in bookkeeping preferably with exposure to UAE/Dubai clients.
  • Strong communication skills for client interaction.
  • Proficiency in accounting software like Xero, QuickBooks & Zoho is an advantage.
