Role: Tool Room Manager

Location: Kanpur

Business: Adani Defence and Aerospace

Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 05 years of equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment.

1. Tool Inventory Management:
1. Maintain accurate records of all tools and dies within the tool room, including tracking usage, condition, and location.
2. Implement a robust tool check-in and check-out system to ensure accountability.
3. Monitor tool stock levels and initiate timely reordering to prevent production disruptions.
2. Tool Maintenance and Repair:
1. Oversee preventative maintenance schedules for all tooling to minimize downtime and extend tool life.
2. Coordinate tool repairs with external vendors or internal maintenance teams when necessary.
3. Ensure proper cleaning and storage of tools to maintain their quality.
3. Staff Supervision:
1. Lead and manage a team of tool room technicians, assigning tasks and ensuring efficient workflow.
2. Provide training and development opportunities for tool room staff to enhance their skills.
3. Monitor performance and address any issues related to tool handling and maintenance.
4. Production Support:
1. Collaborate with production teams to identify and address tooling related issues impacting production.
2. Ensure timely delivery of required tools to production lines.
3. Work with engineering teams to develop new tooling for new products or process improvements.
5. Quality Control:
1. Monitor tool quality and implement measures to prevent defects and ensure product consistency.
2. Conduct regular tool inspections and identify potential issues before they affect production.
6. Cost Management:
1. Analyze tool usage and identify opportunities to optimize tool life and reduce costs.
2. Manage tool procurement process to ensure cost-effective sourcing.
3. Understanding of Auto CAD drawing/PDF supplied by machine supplier.

7. Required Skills and Qualifications:

a. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 05 years of equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment.

b. Proven experience in managing a tool room within a production facility.

c. Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling design, and maintenance practices.

d. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot tool issues

e. Proficiency in inventory management systems and basic computer skills

f. Leadership qualities to effectively manage a team of technicians Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and practices within a manufacturing environment.
