Purchase Officer & Junior Purchase & Purchase Assistant

Role & responsibilities

The Junior Purchase Officer is responsible for assisting in the procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for construction activities on-site. The role involves maintaining relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of materials, and adhering to the project budget and quality requirements.

Procurement Support:

• Assist in sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, equipment, and services for construction projects.
• Maintain a list of preferred suppliers and contractors, ensuring competitive pricing and timely delivery.
• Request and evaluate quotes for materials, equipment, and services.

• Vendor Management:
  
• Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Ensure that all purchased items meet the specified quality standards and project requirements.
• Monitor and track supplier performance, addressing any delays or issues promptly.

• Inventory Management:
  
• Assist in monitoring the inventory levels of materials and supplies on-site.
• Coordinate with the site management team to ensure timely restocking of necessary materials.
• Keep records of all purchases, ensuring accurate documentation for auditing and reporting purposes.

• Documentation and Reporting:
  
• Maintain and update records of all purchases, deliveries, and invoices.
• Assist in the preparation of reports on purchasing activities and material usage.
• Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and procedures.

• Coordination with Project Team:
  
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to ensure that material requirements are met in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with the logistics team to ensure smooth delivery of materials to the construction site.
• Support in resolving any supply chain or logistics issues that may arise during the construction process.

Skills:

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of procurement software or ERP systems is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
