Round: It was a meet with GM and ED
Experience: Asked about work profile.
Just to know the potential

Round: Document verification
Experience: You should bear all the relevant documents you filled during application.
Like if u applied through category then it must b with u made under centeral govt of India

General Tips: It was a 15-20 min technical interview and environment was made very calm by the panel member.
Also there was no language bar.

Round: Other Interview
Experience: There is one round combined interview(Technical+HR)
They have mentioned very clearly what they are looking for.
In HR they asked questions based on hobbies
Tips: Since they have mentioned very clearly what they are looking for so give more importance to that things

Skill Tips: Refresh all basics but particularly Thermal engineering not entire mechanical engineering

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: There was one round Technical cum HR Interview
For technical
The questions were on basics of power systems(Undergraduate stuff) but more oriented towards PGCIL work that is related to Transformers,Generators,Transmission lines etc.
Apart from this basic knowledge of HVDC were tested.also questions were asked related to the indian powergrid like voltage levelsuse of phasor ,measurement units,Interconnection of grids, major HVDC links etc.
For HR
They asked about my hobbies,schooling etc.general HR questions ,nothing peculiar
Tips: 1.Focus on the Basics of power systems(mostly undergraduate level)
2.Also go through reports(Technical,about future plans,enquiry reports of grid collapse) which found on PGCIL website and other websites like ministry of power,CERC etc.

General Tips: One has to be very confident and relaxed
Skill Tips: They will see how your knowledge in power systems help PGCIL .so Focus on topic related to PGCIL like Generators,Transformers,Transmission lines etc.

Experience: One round Technical cum HR interview
Typical PSU interview ,casual questions about my project and questions related to that only-Earthquake effect on structures and its design process. Richter scale and any other scale for earthquake.
Wind and Earthquake code provisions like return period in both cases, severemost Earthquake ever occured on ground.

Skill Tips: Generally Questions Asked from your project so clear the concept of project. Earthquake effect on a structure and its design process was asked.
