In the group discussion mainly your speaking skills were analyzed not the matter you spoke on the topic your confidence, voice and initiative attitude were judged.
Then in the interview the first question was tell me something about yourself and in this you have to tell something other than your cv so that you can get connected with the job profile and it should not be formal you can be semi formal in speaking, in a way you will speak to the customer if you get the job because the customer will not feel connected to you if you will behave that way. Be normal, be friendly without crossing your professional etiquette limits. Rest be you that's what will get you through.
