Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - During interview, Recruiter and Hr just ask if you have laptop and broadband.
But the thing is they will hide many things from you like during training they will ask you to arrange extra phone and sim card, and you have to bear all the expenses like mobile and internet recharge and electricity bill.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Resume Shortlist
Experience: The resume was as per the norms of our institute’s placement office. One should mention only relevant points in the resume because if they ask you something from the resume and you are unable to answer then they will reject you bluntly.

Round: Test
Experience: In the written test the questions asked were mainly aptitude based. The company had sent us some sample question papers before the written test. The questions in the test appeared from those sample papers only. Most of the questions were tricky – questions were framed in a very lengthy manner and the answers or the data required to solve the question was hidden in the last few lines. Many students wasted their time analysing such questions completely. Out of the 80 odd students who appeared for the test only 11 qualified for the next round.

Round: Technical Interview
Experience: In the technical interview he asked me whether I knew programming, I replied in the negative. He asked me to suggest an algorithm to a problem. The problem was based on swapping of numbers. At first I gave a very bland reply. The interviewer wasn’t convinced by my reply and gave me another opportunity to explain me the process. This time I managed to answer appropriately. The interviewer then enquired about my internship and my projects.

Round: HR Interview
Experience: The HR interview was taken by some top company official. He asked me to narrate any challenging incident in my life that I had to struggle through to emerge out of it. One important thing to note here is that your CGPA would speak for you – if you have a good CGPA half the battle is won.

Motivation: TCS recruits a large number of students from various colleges across the country. Knowing this fact beforehand I was not much interested in joining the company. I appeared for its process as a last resort. The company had organized a pre-placement talk. I attended the talk and before appearing for the first round I went through the brochure that was given out during the pre-placement talk.

You do not require any specific information regarding the company to ace the interviews or any questionnaire.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: ANALYTICAL: 25QUES; 30MINS VERBAL 25 QUES; 20MINS ATTENTION TO DETAIL 20 QUES ; 20 MINS. The assessments were done by MERIT TRAC.U can get sample questions 4m the net. The questions were relatively easy as compared to TCS & INFOSYS. They focus too much on ur English...ur grammar should be good enough to get thru it. Attention to detail had about 78 questions on odd man out. other sections' questions include sentence completion, finding the grammatically correct sentence,2 comprehension passages followed by 5 questions each, etc. Around 330 students appeared 4 d test out of which 107 were shortlisted 4 interview n finally 54 were selected.
Duration: 70 minutes
Total Questions: 70

Round: HR Interview
Experience: There was only one round of interview. For CS, ECE n EEE,technical was asked along with HR. ....n it was mostly HR for non circuit branch students. However, u may face some tech. ques. if u tell them dat u have done some course on c++, java, etc.....bt they r just basic ones i.e., he asked just definitions coz wn he asked me abt my programming skills, I told him that I had done a course in c++, he asked things like what is c++, what is pointer n what is object oriented programming. He began d interview by asking me abt d test...like which section was d best4 me...etc,abt my schooling, then asked where did I stand in my class. Then he asked me what is biotech, what all subjects I had studied; 4m d subjects i had told, he asked me to define molecular biology..n then took 'molecule' 4m the definition n asked me wts a molecule, followed bt wts an atom..again came back to mol. biology...then asked me what is DNA? He then asked me y did i want to go into software industry, being a biotech student n what did i know abt their company, abt d recent movie I had seen n asked me to describe d best moment of my life saying that he just wanted to check my narration skills. He gave me one puzzle also saying that so far, none of the students had been able to solve that, he wanted at least some1 to solve that...I took around 2 mins...then gave up. Finally , he asked me abt the preferred place for relocation. It was a wonderful experience as it was my first interview . Initially, I was very tensed abt d technical part bt as I got feedback 4m d students whose interview was over that its mostly HR....I felt somewhat relieved. It was surprising when he began to ask techies 4m my field....albeit all of them were just basics...bt stillI had never expected such ques. n as such was not mentally prepared...evn in c++ , all 3 ques. were basic definitions bt i thought he would ask some conceptual or coding questions...but luckily , I answered almost all of them confidently. What I am trying to emphasize isprepare well d definition part also, if time permits, apart 4m conceptual n coding ques....coz at times...u know abt something bt are not able to define it properly...especially coz of stress factor during interview.

Skill Tips: The most important thing is ur confidence....be confident in wtevr u say...dont take too much time 4 replyin, if u
dont know abt something , tell them frankly n honestly...they just check ur communication skills n English. Dont get nervous.. if they pose questions after questions by selecting a word from ur own answer..dont use any word which u r nt sure abt....u may get urself trapped. Finally, be honest while answering. For relocation, dont say any particular place as long as they dont stress atleast 3 times...maintain eye 2 eye contact. Dont panic if some unexpected ques. is posed..just answer confidently n honestly. For apti, there is no special need 2 prepare...u can crack it provided ur english grammar should be good. Also, dont waste time in reading comprehension passages ....leave them....n do other questions...if time permits..u can do them afterwards. If u want to prepare...u can refer
R.S. AGRAWAL, freshersworld.com or ny other site ....or more preferably merittrac ques. available on d net. U will automatically get other suggestions when u read d details abt d interview n experience. Finally, sorry 4 being so lengthy...its one of my weaknesses. ALL THE BEST TO ALL OF YOU. Hope v'll meet next year @CTS.

Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Interview
Experience: Its not an elimination round, you can go with your informal clothes on. Any one who has prepared for day 1 and day2 companies will get through this round. Just read news papers and learn to shoot graphs here and there even if it has got absolutely no facts and definitely practice to write a lot.
Tips: Be prepared with both for and against the topic coz the interviewer keeps changing the topic in between the GD.The topic was same as that of the case study Don’t write bullet-ed points, this makes your cases look small. Try applying your vocabulary spectrum. Try to give exhibits even if you don’t know any facts.

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: 12 students on the table, one interviewer.
Tips: Play old school .But don’t wait for your chance, just break into it, but with a gentlemanly attitude. Try giving examples. Throw arbitrary facts to prove your points, if you don’t remember the real figures.

Round: Interview
Tips: Don’t start with your brilliancein your core subject. Tell them you hate your department. Convince them that you won’t ditch them for a Ph.D or an MBA. Tell them you have a friend at Wipro who keeps giving you intel about how great the company is. Look confident and if at times you can be funny, they will appreciate it!!

Skill Tips: 8 and above CGPA is required. Later it was lowered to 7.9, mine was 7.98. They mainly ask HR questions, so being involved in Extra-academic activities gives you more that you can talk of. I had an eye for coding in C++. Helped me on this, but my extra-academics list was enough. Coding was just a bonus. If they are non core its better. But my both the internships were core based. You just have to convince them why you are dropping from core.
