Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - This interview was a technical one but was majorly a stress test. It lasted for about 40 minutes. The interviewer wanted to test both my knowledge and communication skills. Most of the questions asked to me were related to my MSc agriculture curriculum i.e. soil science related topics. He stressed a lot on the basics related to my PG Thesis. Luckily I was able to answer most of the questions correctly. I tried to answer each question with examples. You need to stay calm and should apply presence of mind. Please go through the job description thoroughly word-by-word and recheck your resume to ensure that you are a best-fit for the position.

  • Q6. Formula of efficiency of Rankine cycle.
  • Ans.

    Efficiency of Rankine cycle formula.

    • Efficiency = (Net work output / Heat input)

    • Efficiency = (1 - T2/T1)

    • T1 is the temperature of steam at the inlet of turbine

    • T2 is the temperature of steam at the outlet of turbine

    • Net work output = (P1 - P2) * (V2 - V1)

    • Heat input = m * (h1 - h2)

    • m is the mass flow rate of steam

    • h1 is the enthalpy of steam at the inlet of turbine

    • h2 is the enthalpy of steam at the outlet of turbine
