TCS is good for the lateral entry, but as a fresher I recommend not to join TCS. Also in my experience I noticed that lots of things are not fair for associates, as if you work hard then also you might not get any benifit but if you know how to butter then maybe some good things come. But i suggest to keep TCS as a last option as for lateral they give good pkg( still lower then market), and job stability is good, I have seen people not working for years yet they are not fired. So again keel TCS AS A LAST OPTION basically when you wat to retire and not as a fresher.

Salary and recognition is very poor, if I could I would have given -(minus) 10 out of 10. Its really that bad, in annual hike they claim "10%" but you get max to max 6-8% and only 500 rs in hand yes you read it right, only 500 rs to 1000rs max for annual hike.

TCS is the best company in India. It will give you self confidence and work life balance. Salary/Hike is less than other MNC's but if you want a stable life with best culture, you should prefer TCS only. It was my second home, I love to work with TCS in future :-)

Collegues, and company cultyre of TCS should be the benchmark in IT sector. And there is always to learn something, from collegues, management, or by ourselves. Job security is excellent.

Salary and benefits doesn't do any good, as per industry standards. Appraisals and peomotions also at mercy of managers only.

It has low work load due to enough support staff and job is secure as TCS will never ask to leave unless there is a major policy violation.

...ment is near impossible. Promotion will be heard rarely. Lots of hidden charges. And the most important, you will never get salary given in offer letter, it will be short by around atleast 2 LPA or more than that only.
