- The SDE team members were pretty Good. Not all folks are bad. Some team members know the domain and are genuinely good. These are the ones that should be made the Product Owners.

Here is my opinion friends. Please take your call after reading this. - There is a layer at the top. This layer controls all the decision making. They control the timeline of your delivery, they only tell you the effort for a task. Yes!! thats correct. If you are an SDE and you are new and you come back saying, "Hey! I think I will be able to finish this task in 3 days, they will say, Why 3 days? Complete this in 1 day". This is hilarious. !!! Then you will have to do a shoddy job of delivering your task in 1 day with low code quality, multiple bugs, lower customer satisfaction and what not!! You will be ashamed of yourself for doing the job that way. - If you are a puppet and say yes to everything they say, you will be able to influence this top layer and then you get to advance in your career. Else my friend, Good Luck!! "This layer has a very peculiar set of skills that make them a nightmare for people like us. If we don't question them or debate their decision, that will be the end of it. They will not look for you. They will not pursue you. They will not downplay you. If not, they will look for you. They find you in meetings or elsewhere and they will not kill you but you will be taken, for a ride!!" - The company wants to work like a start-up but thinking and actually working like a startup are two different things altogether. Startup cultures thrive on inclusion and being autonomous. I have worked at multiple startups and one thing they all have in common is that they encourage the teams to be autonomous. This is not the case with Subex. It has a long way to go in this regard. - There was a next generation platform project which unfortunately I was not part of but I observed it very closely. I saw poor decision making everywhere in this project. Unrealistic timelines, shoddy code quality, lack of proper designs, no documentation and what not. It was "Avada Kedavra!!" - Then there is the career architecture. This one looks like a legal document. In fact, if anyone can tick all the boxes, please make him a VP. One simple fact is that different teams require different skill sets at different points in time and depends on the situation. However, even if you did your best job, they will use some definition from this career archi lecture (you know what I mean) to send you back in your career. - The team members sincerely want to do a good job. But every thing that has quality takes time and time is not what is given at Subex. - Some team members just enjoy going to MWC. God only knows what they do!! It seems like a vacation for them. I sincerely wish Subex had a good top management layer. Leaders can make or break teams. The top rung at Subex are not leaders, they are bosses. I wish Subex all the best in their future endeavours....Read More

Good tech to work . If u are lucky u will get very very good exposure Very flexible working hour. Hybrid nature . So a developer can go on and and do dev ops talk with Arch, give them solution and even design stuffs. No role based work. People who are interested to know more will be able to get good exposure because how easily accessible evryone is. Too much work pressure (Not always). Lot of unplanned stuffs , short term goals. When I say too much work pressure, it's generally end of release because higher management will be sleeping unfortunately during starting of release. Then they wake up tries to make unnecessary rule which no one will follow eventually ( they are uselessrules so it's better no one follows). Skillfull and dedicated people knows that unless they are contributing well management has to bend . My suggestion will be instead of making these useless rules provide employee flexibility for tasks and have more accountability from starting of sprint not once things are screwed. Also trust ur dev/tester as they are one who knows things from ground level ( unless ofcourse he/she hardly works). Higher management (especially testing management) should not be just excel merchant but instead they should know some HLD of product so that when dev/tester explain him/her some issue they are able to perform actions or take decission....Read More

When working at small organization (i.e., less than 1000 employees), job role isn't fixed. This sometimes can turn as a benefit, as you tend to learn how the entire system works. But at times this seems a disaster when you've worked with large organization which are very process oriented.

Dislikes

Extreme work pressure, which is fine in a competitive market these days. But in return, employees either expect matching salary or job security and both are missing. Other organizations support employees with certification courses. Subex doesn't provide this option. Other organization benefits such as Leaves, health benefits / insurance, claims policies etc are poor. No transport provided.

(1) Job security is compromised due to ineffective management. During team downsizing, managers provided insufficient support. Additionally, team members lack cooperation.(2) Internal team politics is excessive, requiring significant effort to navigate successfully. (3) The absence of a sick leave policy restricts leave options to Paid Leave (PL) or Casual Leave (CL) only. (4) Appraisals are disappointing, and Performance Linked Incentive (PLI) payouts, heavily dependent on company performance, have sharply decreased (50% to 60%). (5) The company's reported 11% growth appears misleading, influenced by workforce reductions across departments. Senior employees receive preferential treatment despite poor performance. (6) Canteen facilities are subpar, and food quality is unsatisfactory. (7) Job roles lack clear definition, causing confusion. (8) Medical benefits are inadequate, covering only Rs.3,00,000 for oneself, spouse, and up to two children. Additionally, 20% of treatment costs must be borne by the employee. (9) HR is perceived as passive, influenced by the CEO and management. (10) Employees from North and West India face discrimination compared to their counterparts from South India (Karnataka, Kerala, Chennai, Hyderabad, etc.), who receive undue advantages. 1. Clueless management. The share prices have dropped 80%, from Rs.45 to Rs.11 since the current management took over. 2. Everyone in the leadership team is about PR. They'll do anything for PR. They copy the 2001 Harvard Book "Markets of One" incorrectly as "Market of One". And repeat the foolish errors a hundred times. They also copy what others have done on Youtube AI channels, as "weekend projects". 3. Management team is having a luxurious life. Most of the sales team wasn't taken to the MWC, but they think it makes sense to spend lakhs on taking CFO, and Tech leadership. 4. The Tech Leadership is the worst I've seen in my career. They're again clueless, but good at politics and PR stunts. They won't even clear a tech lead interview at most other companies in Bangalore. 5.
