The global culture at Rio Tinto is quite positive, but the culture within the India offices is really tough. Employees face extremely long working hours, and the environment is far from ideal. It's challenging, and honestly, not a company I'd recommend joining, especially if you're looking for a supportive atmosphere
Dislikes
The culture at Rio Tinto is deeply unsettling, especially in India. What they claim globally doesn’t align with the reality here, and individuals are constantly caught in confusion about what to follow. The Australian dominance overshadows everything, with little respect for Indian values. Employees are treated more like laborers, and the environment is highly political. There's always a lingering fear of losing your job, as decisions seem arbitrary. The company’s history and culture are suffocating, and it feels like at any moment, Australia could decide to terminate anyone's position without notice.
